An Innovator in Solar Energy Solutions Since 1977
Mirasol Solar carries on a tradition of providing energy-efficient solutions that began in 1959, when George W. Egglefield founded Southern Insulation Co. For more than 65 years, the company has proudly served homeowners and businesses throughout Sarasota, Charlotte, and Manatee counties.
In 1977, Southern Insulation launched its Solar Water Heating Division, which soon became known as Mirasol Solar. In 1980, Scott Egglefield became one of the first professionals in Florida to earn both a Solar Contractor License and a State-Certified Plumbing Contractor License, laying the foundation for Mirasol’s continued growth in the solar industry.
In 2006, Mirasol Solar obtained its State Solar Contractor License, enabling the company to install photovoltaic (solar electric) systems.
Today, Mirasol Solar has helped more than 20,000 households reduce their energy costs through solar power and proudly represents three generations of the Egglefield family, with Damon Egglefield carrying on the tradition. In addition to residential solar, Mirasol Solar offers pool and spa automation, natural pool purification systems, solar water heaters, pool cleaners, heat pump pool heaters, and gas pool heaters to help homeowners improve comfort, efficiency, and energy savings.
